On Thursday night, Botánica Obatala—a Logan Square community staple for over fifteen years—was gutted by a fire. It looks like the entire stock has been lost, and neither the storefront nor its contents were insured.
This botánica has served as a religious and community center for the Logan Square latinx community for years. It's now in danger of being shuttered forever.
So let's help our neighbors out! Please give whatever you can. While I'm sure $1000 won't cover half of the damage, it will at least help get Botánica Obatala back on its way to serving the Logan Square community, and support the owner as her store is shuttered.
