La ville d'Otterburn Park vient de décider de faire fi des droits consentis au club par des actes notariés qui l'engageaient à héberger adéquatement le Club de canotage d'Otterburn, à le soutenir financièrement et à entretenir son équipement, en échange des donations faites par le club.

1921 : Fondation du club et achat du terrain 

1965 : Le club cède 3 lots à la ville d’Otterburn Park pour 1$, en échange d’un hébergement adéquat et d’un soutien financier. 

1987 : Le club cède sa flotte en échange de l’entretien et du renouvellement de celle-ci. 

 2020 : Avis d’éviction de la part de la ville. 

La ville doit s’entendre avec le club et respecter leur part du contrat.

Si les fonds amassés ne sont pas nécessaires, ils seront remis entièrement à un ou des organisme (s) communautaire (s) et/ou sportif (s) de la région, autre que le Club de Canotage Otterburn.

We are soliciting your help to raise funds for our legal defense to ensure the long-term survival of the Otterburn Boating Club.


The city of Otterburn Park has decided to ignore their responsibilities, which were attributed, by a notarized act, to appropriately house the club rent free, for life; to provide financial support for the club as well as to maintain and improve the fleet of canoes and kayaks, in exchange for the donation of the club’s land and building.

1921: The club is created and the land is bought. 

1965: The club sells, for 1 dollar, 3 lots of land to the town of Otterburn Park, in exchange of an appropriate home and a certain financial support for the club for life. 

1987: The club sells its fleet to town for one dollar in exchange of the town on Otterburn Park’s financial support to upkeep and renew the fleet of canoe and / or kayaks.

 2020: The city of Otterburn Park issues an eviction notice to the commodore of the Otterburn Boating Club. 


The city needs to negotiate an agreement with the club and respect their contractual obligations. 


If the funds raised are not entirely used for the above stated purpose, the money will be redistributed to one or more community (ies) and /or sporting organization (s) in the region, other than the Otterburn Boating Club.
