Save My Son Custody Fund

Friends, I urgently need your help to save my son. I need to keep him safe, and give him a home – and I need a family court lawyer to do it. She is expensive ($300/hr)  – and I can’t afford her alone. But I can’t afford NOT to keep my son safe and win custody.
Just a few weeks ago, my son, in a session with myself and my therapist, revealed the truth about his homelife with his mother and stepfather. I can’t and won’t go into the details. But she is mandated to report the situation, which Child Protective Services has substantiated the claims.
I am horrified and heartbroken – and feel helpless because I couldn’t protect him. I didn’t know. But I have been battling to save him ever since I found out the truth. Legal aid provided some advice, and court held an emergency hearing. I didn’t get immediate temporary custody, but I did ensure my son is safe - for now.

I have spent more than $1500 already on this fight for my son’s life – at a time when I really don’t have the funds. I have gone back and forth to Sacramento to the court, serving paperwork, filing responses, involving the police.

I’ve done everything I can without a lawyer. And I have a major court date coming up on Sept. 16th.  I need $3000 to retain her services – and that covers just 10 hours of work. There are two additional hearings and who knows what else. My research revealed most custody battles cost a minimum of $10,000. And it’s worth EVERY PENNY I have to save my son. But I don’t have enough… if I don’t ask for help and do everything I can to win this battle by getting a lawyer—I will be devastated.

I need your help. My son needs your help. Every dollar counts.
I am selling things. I will take odd jobs (I am currently on leave from work – another story, another battle, but far far secondary to this fight to save my son). I can work on your computer. I can edit your video. I can sing you a song.

I will do everything and anything I can to help protect my son. I appreciate your help.
