Support Mounir's Family in Gaza Crisis

Donation protected
My name is Mounir Youssef Salama. I am 24 years old and my wife and I have a new baby boy. We have been displaced in the south of the Gaza strip for months after the occupation destroyed our home; we depend on this fundraiser to survive. My extended family lives with us, including many young nieces and nephews (pictured in my cover photo).

My elderly mother lives with us; my 75-year-old father Youssef was able to evacuate to Egypt in April to begin cancer treatment. We had another Gofundme that made this possible; however, due to difficulties with receiving the funds, we closed that campaign and began a new one. Tragically, my father died in an Egyptian hospital on December 13, 2024. Not long after this, heavy rainfall and cold temperatures assailed the displacement camps. Our situation is more desperate than ever. I need you, my second family, to continue to stand with us.

My Story

I got married on October 6, 2023 and my wife and I did not enjoy our marriage. Then we woke up to the sound of explosions on October 7. Five days later, my family and I left and moved. After that, our house was demolished and nothing was left for us.

After a few weeks, I was surprised to find out that my wife was pregnant.

After months of displacement and suffering, God blessed me with a child. I named him Jude Munir Salama.

My son Jude slept in the hospital for several weeks because he had an inflammation in the lungs, but thanks to God, he was treated. Now, my wife, Jude, and my family live in a small tent. Now my son is 5 months old. We still do not know when our fate will be, but I decided that I would leave Gaza with my family when I collected money because we would not have a home or a future in Gaza. However, when we left Gaza, it cost each person $5,000 and the children $2,500. We are dependent and I do not know what to tell you.

I hope that you all stand with me. You are my second family.

"This is my father, whom I also lost on 12/13/2024. I lost the dearest people. The hardest feeling is saying goodbye to my father through the camera. I can’t even hug him or kiss him. I swear to God, it broke my back."
