Hi Everyone I am sure since many of you already know what is going on with my beloved Mimi. If you don't....
I rescued her from s.p.a.y.l.e.e. in florida 7 years ago this October. I recently (9/15) took her to the vet to have her teeth cleaned because she wasn't eating right and I thought something was wrong with her teeth. The vet put her to sleep and did a "dental visit/cleaning" When I picked her up they said her teeth were great.... however her eye was almost swollen shut. That vet bill was 780$ for a teeth cleaning. They stated they didnt know why or what happend "maybe she got bit by something. They gave her a shot of benadryl per my request and I took her home. Her eye began progressively worse over the night, and she began having seizures, with a temp of 105.8 by 1am. I immediately took her the the emergency vet clinic in essex where they gave her antibiotics, and eye oinment and told me to monitor her and if she wasn't better in the morning she would need to see an eye surgeon. I again took her home and by 9am and 3 more seizures her eye was completely swollen shut and protruding out of the socket. I took her to rhode island to the doggy eye surgeon where he proceeded to tell me he cannot operate on her beause she is too ill and needs to be hospitalized and recieve IV antibiotics, steroids, fluids, and pain meds. She isn't stable and they cannot operate because she would die, and if I do not hospitalize her she will die. Her pupil is fixed and dialated and no longer reacting to light. She has what they call a retrobulbular abcess.... and if she does survive her eye will need to be removed. I brought her back to another local vet and they immediately transferred her to the emergency hospital.... where she will be for the next 3-5 days. The rough estimate for her stay is roughly 2800$ She will need a CT scan before surgery at 2300$.... And even before any of this occurs Ive already spent over 1500$ in the past 24hours between the vet, the ER, and the eye surgeon.
Mimi is my world <3 she is the sweetest dog in the entire world and I do not know what I would do with out her. But unfortunately some one elses neglegence may cost my sweet girl her life, and if that neglegence doesnt cost her her life, my lack of funds will. Im asking anyone and everyone I know, If you could please donate to help give my girl a chance <3
