Save the Lumicorn!! (Luvable Lumen)

Lumen the Great Dane was born with congenital abnormalities in her feet and legs. She was abandoned by her breeder in Mexico when she was just 4 weeks old. Lumen is now at Luvable Dog Rescue in Eugene, Oregon, thanks to many caring people who felt she was worth saving!  Lumen's only chance at life is to find a way to help her bear a VERY large adult weight, as she is a Great Dane puppy, on feet with no main pads to support her!
So far we have spent over $17k witout yet getting Lumen where she needs to be, but thanks to so many amazing donations she has come so far!!!  Lumen had an experimental surgery done at Oregon State University a few months ago, where 3 of her four feet and both hind legs were operated on over several surgeries. We had hoped she could just use her own feet, but this is not going to be possible.  They may never look like "normal" feet, but as long as they can carry her soon-to-be substantial Great Dane weight with a little extra orthotic assistance, and give her some mobility, Lumen could still have a great quality of life!
We are still trying to raise money for the other $8k in medical bills Lumen has already incurred through OSU, Willamette Emergency Hospital, Edgewood Animal Clinic and See Spot Run rehabilitation. Then we still have her new orthotics we will be casting her for soon once the ulcer she developed on her right hind foot is fully healed. Lumen started to develop a large ulcer, essentially wearing through her feet from the inside out from all her weight that her foot is not meant to bear without paw pads. She is otherwise healthy, loving and the happiest little unicorn around!
Because of Lumen's deformities, it is painful to walk as she has no cushioning. This does not stop Lumen from acting like a normal Giant breed puppy who LOVES to run and play! All.the.time. We have to keep Lumen sedated everyday to help keep her from running too much and damaging her feet beyond repair. Lumen has to spend quiet time in a large pen in the living room each day to try to keep her calm during the day. But when Lumen gets on grass....WHOA!!! This girl RUNS!!!!! She is carefree and you can see that it isn't hurting her to do what she loves. We want nothing more than to be able to give Lumen a soft, durable surface that she can run in her yard everyday and be as close to having a normal life as possible. There is an incredible company called Alpha Turf that makes a faux grass that is installed but is made to withstand dogs!! Chewproof, dig proof, does not absorb bacteria, drains like real grass and for all intensive purposes is like having grass that can't be destroyed by dogs leaving you with just a mud pit. The amazing people at Alpha Turf have offered us a %5 discount to help the rescue dogs and we were blown away by their generosity! But even with that discount, it is an extremely expensive product and there is nothing out there like it. To do the yard space it would be between $22,000-33,000 depending on if we did the entire yard or part of the yard. So we are hoping to do this for Lumen so she can know the joy of running like the puppy she is without destroying her feet. We can just  picture the bliss on her face now :) :) :)
Thank you to everyone following and supporting Lumen's journey! We are so thankful she is with us and we cannot imagine not giving her the full life she deserves!! Thank you to The Dodo and Big Barker and VerizonWireless for sharing Lumen's story! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far, you are all angels!!! <3
