Hello,
my name is Shaynna and I am raising money on behalf of my mom, Lori. She has been battling chronic kidney disease. Her left kidney was removed in 2001. She is in Stage 4 kidney failure and her remaining kidney, what we refer to as "Sidney", is currently functioning at 37%. She has stone disease and has fought as many as 7 kidney stones at a time. Throughout our life, it has been very common for her to be in and out of the hospital for weeks or months at a time fighting for her life. Unfortunately each time that this happens, she is out of work for a while recovering and the bills start to pile up. It's been an unstable type of lifestyle that has definitely taken a toll on my mom and my family. She is the hardest working person that I know that never complains or asks for anything. She is a single mother and there has been MANY times where she would rather pay the rent and buy groceries for her 3 kids, than pay for prescriptions. Her prescriptions are typically hundreds to thousands of dollars and she owes over 3 million dollars in medical bills. We have quietly struggled with these issues for as long as I can remember. We have never asked for help and do not recieve any type of assistance. My family and I have done our best to make ends meet and this time is particularly overwhelming. My biggest fear ever is losing my mom and I will do whatever I can to help her and make sure she is comfortable. Her most recent "kidney episode" that landed her in the hospital for a few weeks, has left her out of work and the bills are beginning to pile up. Her doctor is doing whatever he can to extend the life of this kidney, but she needs to rest as much as possible. We need to get her back on her feet. My mom lives alone with my 15 year old brother Cory, who does whatever he can to make sure she's comfortable. We need help paying for bills and prescriptions. Please help me take care of this literal angel on Earth. If you have ever been lucky to meet my mom, or Merm as you may know her, then you know how much love she spreads and how deserving of life she is.
