For over 15 years, Local Yocal has been more than a butcher shop.
It’s been the soul of downtown McKinney — a place where neighbors gather, ranchers deliver with pride, and every steak tells a story about Texas land, hard work, and honest food.
But now, construction is about to begin, resulting the street outside our doors being torn apart.
The buildings next to us are coming down.
And in less than a year, we’ll have to move — not by choice, but by necessity.
We aren’t giving up.
We’re fighting to preserve what makes McKinney McKinney — real people, real ranching, real community.
This fundraiser will help cover the costs of:
- Finding and securing a new home for Local Yocal
- Moving equipment, refrigeration, and the butcher line
- Building out a new shop space that meets our standards for quality and safety
- Keeping our team employed through the transition
We’re also asking for your help in finding our next location.
If you know of a space or property that could fit Local Yocal’s next chapter, please reach out.
This isn’t charity — it’s community.
When you donate, you’re helping protect a piece of McKinney’s heritage and investing in the future of local food done right.
Every contribution counts and we want to make sure you get something out of it too!

Together, we can make sure Local Yocal doesn’t disappear with the construction dust.
They can tear up the street, but they can’t tear down our spirit.
