Bring The Music Back To KJSR.net
Donación protegida
KJSR.net (a 24/7 independent internet radio station) was started in 2008 by DJ Charlie with one goal in mind, allowing DJs to Play what they want and Say what they want. And our DJs who have broadcasted from across the globe have been doing this wonderfully...until recently.
On March 23, 2015 we were dealt a great blow. Our yearly music licensing agreements we've had for years are gone. The new agreement requires all fees for the year be paid up front, instead of after the music has been played. That means approximately $1,600 RIGHT NOW before we can play another song. After the new agreement is in place, our license fees will be a much more reasonable amount of $350 per year. To be bluntly honest, we don't have the money for this new agreement. We have never taken advertising and we depend on donations from our supporters. But right now the money just isn't there.
After getting this news, the owner and heart of KJSR.net, DJ Charlie, and the station manager, DJ Skunkie, met with DJs and discussed options. One thing for sure, every one of them wanted us to STAY ON THE AIR. So we are going to, but without the music. Our DJs are changing to a talk format until we can raise funds to get our music back. That's how dedicated they are, this is how much they love what they do.
We don't want to stay this way forever, but we WILL stay on the air until we can raise the funds to get our music licenses back.
$1,600 may not sound like a lot but it means the LIFE of KJSR.net. Help us continue to Say what we want and more importantly PLAY what we want.
