My brother Joe is one of the good guys. He takes in stray animals, he helps anyone and everyone in need, and he would give you the shirt off of his back without question.

My sister Theresa was found dead last year. My brother Dan was found dead in May. We just can't lose Joe...and Joe just can't lose his house.

Joe had a heart attack April 17th, and a brain stem stroke on July 6th. He was unable to work after his heart attack and had no money coming in, and had just been given medical clearance to return to work on Tuesday, July 7th. He had his stroke Monday, July 6th, on his 61st birthday, and is now paralyzed on the right side of his body.

As Joe is single and has always paid his own way, he is now depressed and worried that he will lose his house because his job provides him with no benefits of any kind, and there is no hope of returning to work.

He is so close to paying off his house, but with no current income, this dream is quickly fading, and he faces losing it to a foreclosure. $41,000 will pay off his mortgage in full. Joe's house can easily be made wheelchair accessible for whenever he can come home. I love my brother with all my heart but I do not have the resources to cover his mortgage. Any help you can offer will allow my brother some peace of mind as he will leave the hospital and transition to a rehab as soon as he is strong enough.
