Hello, my name is Jennifer. I'm 29 years old and just got diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma - a blood cancer that effects the lymph nodes.
In January of this year, I noticed a swelling in my jaw that just wouldn't go away. I went to urgent care to get it checked, but they urged me it was just a swollen node and that I needed rest. Well, 8 months of rest went by and the lump got bigger - a LOT bigger. I decided to go to the ER, where the best doctor I could ask for ordered a CT scan of the area. My lump turned out to be a tumor and, after two biopsies, was revealed to be cancerous.
I start my chemo journey in the coming weeks and, though I have health insurance, the process is incredibly expensive. My copays are $90 every visit, and since my car is broke down currently, my Ubers cost me $50 for a two-way trip.
I'm asking for assistance covering my chemotherapy, and anything else that may be involved in my treatment and recovery. My goal includes my copays, travel, and possible days off for the next 6 months of treatment.
I've been told by others with the same diagnosis that taking off from work isn't always necessary, but in the chance that the chemo effects my body more than I can handle, I'd like to make sure I have enough to take the necessary days off from work to recover without worrying about losing money.
Thank you to everyone that has taken their time to read this, and a bigger thanks to anybody that donates. If you cannot share financially, I ask that you please share this fundraiser on your FaceBook, Instagram, TikTok, and anywhere else that can get it seen.
Together, we can beat this.
Xoxo, Jenn
