I decided to keep this Crowdfund open rather than create a new one. This is the original fund created after the volcano. So it's a little sentimental now.

On May 26, 2018, Hedonisia Hawaii EcoFeminist Community was destroyed by the Kilauea volcano eruption. After 14 years in paradise, Hedonisia went from a successful community hosting visitors from around the world to a volcanic lava field.

The pre-volcanic Hedonisia now exists in our photos and hearts.

It is now been over 8 years. The government has finally started but still not completed building the road that will allow proper access to the Hedonisia property.

The land has a surreal post-apocalyptic beauty. 200 yards behind my property line, buried molten lava is still steaming. There is one-acre of green land left which was not covered by lava. The green land surrounded by lava is called a kipuka. It is the upper lip of what used to be our jungle crater.

The Hedonisia approach of pleasurable activism was very successful in our pre-volcano community.

We now have broadened this work with our web and book projects and are planning to create a micro-community on the land in the future.

This fundraising campaign is for:

  • Micro-Community: Hedonisia is slowly becoming a beautiful micro-community in a green jungle Kipuka surrounded by an ocean of lava.
