Hi, our names are Ivy and Jeff and we are fundraising for Gebbie, our Aunt.

We have some unfortunate news family and friends....

Unfortunately, in March 2022, Gebbie suffered from major neck pain associated with a new right-sided lump in the cervical spine and where she was then diagnosed again with CLL.

She is currently undergoing radiation therapy with chemotherapy to follow.

She has received much support from friends and family and we are all very appreciate of your thoughts. THANK YOU!

However, with the upcoming treatments, Gebbie will need to go through tremendous amounts of effort and endure many more months of pain as she tries to power through this. Your kind support and thoughts are much appreciated in these trying times.

Gebbie's sister, Ilex, has once again, very unselfishly, given up her job to fly back to Canada to be by Gebbie's side. We thank you, Ilex, for being there for Gebbie!

We are reaching out to ask for assistance as Gebbie will need daily medical care when Ilex returns back to work. The cost of ongoing supportive drug expenses are quite expensive.

All donations will be graciously accepted and will directly aid Gebbie’s journey in fighting cancer. Jeffery Chan and myself, Ivy, are helping Gebbie and her sister, Ilex by managing this campaign. History - Learn more about Gebbie's journey...

Gebbie Hou was diagnosed with Stage IV Lymphoma and had beat it with chemotherapy back in 2013. In November 2016, she was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL) where her lymphoma had relapsed. She was hospitalized and under went a second line of chemotherapy treatment and multiple blood transfusions.

Gebbie was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to Vancouver BC when she was 12. She has been a flight attendant for 18 years. In 2013, Gebbie often felt tired and had back pain, night sweats and also suffered from insomnia. She consulted her family physician who then referred her to BC Cancer Centre, which was where she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma. After a year of chemotherapy, Gebbie slowly recovered and in 2015, she happily returned to job she loved.

In mid 2016, her cancer relapsed and her oncologist diagnosed her with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia. She developed quite a relapsed and her CT scan indicated a significant progression in many areas including her organs. She was admitted into Richmond emergency in early December 2016 as she needed emergency blood transfusion. Since then, her condition had stabilized with the aid of oral medication, but unfortunately this form of treatment did not contain her disease. She was in urgent need for a stem cell match for a bone marrow transplant and many stem cell drives were held for her until she found.

Currently Gebbie's sister,Ilex, has taken a leave of absence at work in Hong Kong to take care of her daily here in Canada. We are reaching out to ask for assistance as Gebbie will need daily medical care when Ilex returns back to work. The cost of ongoing supportive drug expenses are quite expensive should it no longer be covered through Gebbie's work.
