[UPDATE 10/24 @ 1:44PM EDT] Baxter's leg and life are in imminent danger, please help me raise money he needs to cover immediate emergency surgery. I am just his foster mom -- a role I reluctantly took because animal control was going to euthanize him, instead, I paid for his ER care, and when no one else would take him in, I said I'd do so temporarily. That was nineteen months ago.  Truth is I am overwhelmed. I cannot do this alone, please help me save his life, and pray God his leg. Together we can put a smile back on Baxter's face, and a skip in his step. This photo from the summer shows his true joyful nature.
Today, he looks miserable as his body works to fight off infection, and the gaping open wound on his leg (where a screw has broken through the skin) causes him extreme pain. If you can, please donate, now, to ensure he gets the medical care he needs. Every amount counts!

Baxter is a gorgeous goofy dog that worthy of all the good this life has to offer, including health! Some have suggested that his surgery costs are too high, so I should just have his leg amputated . . . ayfs?! I would never chop off someone's able-to-be-fixed-and-healed leg over a few thousand dollars, would you?! Do NOT let that happen, Baxter is a healthy and strong athletic boy, help me get his leg fixed! (Then help me find his forever family.)

Dog lovers, I need you to help me raise the funds he needs to cover his medical expenses, which will include surgery, skin grafts at the very least, and potentially another extensive (and expensive) orthopedic surgery. Every cent and all the effort is worth it! While his recovery after the car accident took six months, once healed, this guy has been in excellent shape --  through daily runs, long hikes and optimal organic nutrition I've helped this once emaciated dog gain seven pounds of pure muscle. He looks like a GQ model and has the prowess of an Olympic athlete!

If you can, please donate to his medical fund, now. You can also help by sharing his story on social media, GoFundMe also has email and text options, so you can send his fundraiser directly to your dog lover friends.

Baxter is an awesome dog who's been through hell and deserves a good break. In his former life he was severely neglected, for days, and even weeks, Baxter was left alone locked in a cage without food, he was abused, and ultimately abandoned. While on the streets Baxter was nearly killed when he was hit by a car, I met him at the accident scene where I literally picked him up from a pool of blood, and with a police escort, got him to the ER in time to save his life.

I had not planned on fostering Baxter, in fact I cried and begged for someone else to take him, but no one would and the only other option was death -- so here we are, nineteen months later. It took six months for him to fully recover from the broken leg and subsequent infections, it took more than a year to rehabilitate him after issues from years of trauma, and you know what, hard as it's been, I wouldn't change a thing, he is a good dog made of pure love

Please donate, now, to ensure he can get the medical help required. Help me save his leg, and his life!

Baxter is in *very serious condition* and needs *immediate surgery* and the money to cover the medical costs.

Trust me, I have called on everyone begging for help, from rescues, to the ASPCA to the Humane Society, and all those we-will-help-pay-your-dog's-medical-bills place, no one has provided us any help, except for you, the dog lovers of the world! WE THANK YOU!

The [In]Humane Society, who I asked to help get him adopted, mentioned euthanasia TEN TIMES on our call, they kept reiterating that if his medical expenses are too high they'd have to put him down. NOT ON MY WATCH!

I will continue to fight for this dog's life and fulfill the promise I made to him as he lay near-death, I promised to get him healed, healthy, happy and into a loving forever home, and I will. Help me help Baxter. Please donate whatever you can. The initial estimate is his medical care will cost at least $4000, help me raise those funds. I am calling on a miracle!

Baxter is a goofy boy filled with love, he's a real people pleaser, wait until you look in those eyes, you'll melt! Baxy is house-trained, he loves to play with toys, or lay his head in your lap, he is obedient of commands, comes when called, sits, even gives paw shakes and can catch treats in his mouth. His favorite thing beside running and long hikes is to give kisses and cuddle. Baxter is gorgeous, and aside from his injured leg, he is in excellent health! Baxter is looking for a kind, loving and devoted, fun forever family with a large fenced yard and time to bond with him. Baxter is located in Asheville, NC, and is eager to plant roots with his forever family. Message me here if you're interested in adopting him, dog rescues welcome!

First things first, let's get this boy's leg healed! Click on the link to make a donation, today, so Baxter can get the immediate surgery he needs! (we've got an appointment on Thursday, just need the money to cover the cost)

Thank you! Baxter is wagging his tail as I type . . .

Are you are dog rescue, or do you work with one? PLEASE get Baxter an in-person meeting with a dog rescue and help him get adopted. In 1.5 years not one rescue will even meet with Baxter, if they did, they'd fall in love and he'd be adopted. I am one woman with two arms, three dogs, and a business of my own that has fallen behind due to lack of time, since three dogs requires me to conduct eight walks a day and a dog park visit (silver lining, my legs look awesome!).

Beyond help paying for his immediate medical expense I need help getting him adopted. Please help.  I've got two options, bring Baxter to a shelter where they may euthanize him (F-that, I would never!) or do whatever needs to be done; I obviously chose the latter. It's exhausting though, and along with dwindling funds, I am running out of steam. Help from a dog rescue would be greatly appreciated, and it's needed soonest, I am leaving for California come January, and I will not be able to take him; trust me, no one wants to rent to someone with three dogs. I already got asked to leave the condo I was living in when I took him in, and it took me five months to find a rental that would take us all. Help me manifest MIRACLES!

Love to Your Day,
Krista-Lynn, Gigi, St. Valentine & Baxter

{3/24/16}

Baxter is now in the loving care of Dr. Nelson and team at Bayview Animal Hospital, who've so generously stepped up to provide his care, with promise of payment. They're currently giving him a full body scan to look for internal injuries, doing x-rays to gauge the extent of his injuries, and cleaning his wounds. Beyond the compound fracture of his lower leg, which has broken in half, through the skin (see photo) his shoulder is severely injured. He will need to be transferred to a specialized surgeon.

Once details about his exact medical needs and costs are discerned I will post all information.

Thank you for the shares, prayers and donations, BLESS YOU ALL!

[3/23 @ 10pm edt] 911 EMERGENCY! Tonight I drove up on an accident CAR --vs-- DOG. His leg is broken in half, bone popping out of skin, dangling, he is bleeding from mouth and in shock.

Ft. Lauderdale Police helped save this dog, giving us a full speed escort through red lights. We got him to hospital in time. He's now on IV pain killers, antibiotics and anti-inflammatory meds to stabilize him, and his leg will get a proper splint .

Surgery is next. It will be extensive, requiring pins and rod.

I paid to cover his costs for tonight (3.23) and committed  to picking him up 7am tomorrow (3.24).

From emergency vet clinic I will bring him to Imperial pet hospital to see orthopedic specialist for advanced testing and treatment plan.

Friends and fellow dog lovers, DOGGIE NEEDS YOUR HELP! The estimate for x-rays and testing (for internal injuries) is over $1000 .... to get orthopedic surgery could take that total up to $3500-4000, or more. I'll know more when I get him to the hospital; which will want money up front.

Will you contribute to help this precious (abandoned) doggie boy named Baxter? (He has a collar with no tag and a chip with a disconnected NJ phone #)

At this point, I'm the only one paying for his care, this sweet, precious boy deserves to live and be loved. Please help me #saveBaxter. I call on you to assist me with funding for his care, fostering in the ‪#‎FortLauderdale‬ ‪#‎Florida‬ area, and pray God, adoption to the kindest, most loving and devoted forever family.

Will you help save Baxter doggie?

Donations of any amount are appreciated (woof woof!) -- seriosuly, $5 helps! And if you can and feel called to, please pledge more.

When a village comes together on behalf of another we can move mountains! And most certainly save a life. Baxter's life!

Pick up is Thursday 3.24 @ 7am. . . I will need funds ready when I bring him to a specialist.

If (God forbid ) he doesn't make it through the night, all monies contributed will be refunded.

Photos of bills, and updates on Baxter's progress with photos and video will be shared every step of the way.

Will you help us save doggie Baxter's life? (and get him adopted to the kindest, most loving and devoted forever family )

Baxter will wag his tail in joy, as he did when called by his name, and promised (by me ) that he's going to make it through and have a loving forever family.

A special ‪#‎thankyou‬ to the ‪#‎FortLauderdalePolice‬ who went above the call of duty to save the life of this dog. I'd personally thank the ‪#‎policeofficer‬who helped, but there was no time for introductions whIle racing to save a (precious) life.

If you can, please help us help Baxter get the care he needs.

Bless You!
