Save Bobby and Debbie Durt's Home
Donation protected

Bobby and Debbie Durt lived at their home in Oakland. Prior to his leaving this world, he got a reverse mortgage on their home. However, because Debbie's name was not on the reverse mortgage, we have been fighting constantly to have the lender recognize that she has property rights. Bobby's trust and will clearly established that Debbie was his beneficiary, but the lender only recently has acknowledged this, while they have been repeatedly threatening to auction their home. All this craziness has resulted in a property tax debt, which the lender has paid and charged fees and penalties.
Now the lender is saying that the debt is the reason that they are going to auction the house TODAY. We need to come up with enough money that Champion mortgage will agree not to go ahead with the auction. The debt is approximately $14,000. If she is able to pay this debt, we can get Champion to acknowledge her rights as a spouse, and she will be able to keep their home for the rest of her life.
I am sending this out as a last resort. Debbie has allowed me to do this, but only after a lot of tears. I believe that she is so loved and known world wide, that we should be able to pull it together. If we cannot, hopefully we can get enough together that they will postpone the auction and give us some time to get more raised. If we cannot get enough that the lender will cancel the auction, I will be sure that any donations are refunded.
Thank you all for your understanding and caring.
