Coconut isn’t just our dog — she’s our heartbeat. She’s eight years old, a little beagle with a big heart, and truly the sweetest soul we’ve ever known. Coconut has never met a person she didn’t love or a snack she didn’t want to share. She refuses to eat her food until she gets her kiss on the head (sometimes two or three), and when we buy her stuffed animals to chew on, she just cuddles them instead. Her favorite things in the world are belly rubs, watching TV with her family, and being close enough to us that at least one paw is touching someone.
Recently, we got heartbreaking news: Coconut has transitional cell carcinoma, an aggressive bladder cancer that can’t be removed surgically.
The good news is that her overall health is strong — her bloodwork looks great, and her doctors believe she’s a wonderful candidate for definitive radiation therapy, a treatment that could shrink her tumor, ease her symptoms, and give her significantly more quality and healthy time and a good life filled with snuggles and treats. We’re determined to give her that chance.
The full course of treatment — fifteen radiation sessions over three weeks, plus pre-treatment imaging — costs around $10,000–$11,000. Every dollar raised will go directly to Colorado Animal Specialty & Emergency for Coconut’s care. This isn’t experimental; it’s a proven treatment plan that could truly give her more time and comfort.
Coconut has given us unconditional love every single day of her life. Now it’s our turn to fight for her. If you’re able to help — whether that’s by donating, sharing this campaign, or just sending a kind word — we’ll be forever grateful. Even a few dollars or a simple share helps more than you know. Thank you for helping us give Coconut the chance to keep being the loving, silly, kiss-demanding beagle she’s always been.
With love,
Coconut’s family
