In times of crisis, when we feel broken, helpless, and alone, we turn to music. Music is our elixir for the soul. And that is precisely why the Catalina Jazz Club has devoted its whole life to pouring you its finest concoction — Jazz. For us, Jazz is our way of life. It breathes pain. It knows love. It dreams hope. It bleeds courage.
And we’ve spent the last 34 years refining our recipe into the perfect blend of melodies. Whether we have showcased the incredible talents of Broadway, Soul, Latin Jazz, R&B, or stand-up comedy, the one thing we’ve learned from all these greats who have graced our stage is how to connect with you.
In response to the citywide closures, the Catalina Jazz Club has set up this digital tip jar in our fight to survive. Our doors have been closed since March 14th, and each day our fight grows harder to pay our faithful staff, our talented tech crew, and our consummate chefs what they’re worth — and to us, they are worth everything. But there are some blues you just can’t sing away, so we humbly ask that you contribute whatever you can to help cover our on-going Utilities, multiple Insurances, Taxes and Music Royalties, and outstanding Rent on our Sunset hot spot and spare us from having to go dark for good. While great music can soothe the soul, it’s your gracious donation, no matter the size, that fills our heart.
The Catalina family needs you now more than ever. So when this crisis ends, we can still be here for you. We can keep the bar stools warm and the stage lights sparkling. Together, we can find our way back to normal. And when we do, we’ll repaint the town, serenade your soul, and wine and dine you with our superb eats. Expect the finest Jazz legends, most Soulful savants, and best of Broadway royalty to hit this side of old Hollywood.
Only together can we save the Catalina Jazz Club. So if you crave the electrified fingers of Chick Corea, the bubbly belt of Dee Dee Bridgewater and Lynda Carter, the flirtatious saxophone of Joshua Redman, the slick strumming of Kenny Burrell, the insane drum clinic of Steve Gadd, the romance of Steve Tyrell, or the masterclass of Mike Stern — if like us, you desperately crave the shared magic of live performance, then please donate to the Catalina Jazz Club and help us keep our love of music alive.
We’ll be sure to have your table ready.
All our love,
Catalina, Manny, and our Staff
