Hi,

My name is Sam and I'm raising money to help fund my dog, Betsy's, medical bills. Betsy is a 7 year old Basset Hound from Tennessee. Betsy's been the love of my life since I got her when she was a couple weeks old. She's the best dog I could ask for and I love her more than anything.

A couple months ago, Betsy became sick. She couldn't hold her food down for days at a time. I took her to the vet in February and she had blood work and an X-Ray of her chest done. The results came back, and everything looked normal. The vet had me put her on a bland diet of chicken and rice and sent us home. For the next month, Betsy seemed to be okay - she had good days and bad days, but suddenly her health started rapidly deteriorating.

I took Betsy to the vet again for another round of tests, and this time the results were concerning. Betsy's white blood cell count was alarmingly high and her albumen (protein) levels were dangerously low. The vet chalked this up to an ulcer with a secondary infection and sent us home with a plethora of meds - 2 different antibiotics, anti nausea meds, pepcid, and a pill to raise the ph level in her stomach. We were hopeful. We just wanted her to be healthy.

After a week on the meds, it was clear Betsy wasn't getting any better. This past week, Betsy's condition has become severe. The only time she isn't shivering or vomiting is when I'm holding her to calm her down. Betsy spent the night in the Towson ER last night.

Today's ultrasound showed a large mass in Betsy's abdomen. The vet took a sample of the mass and has sent it to the lab for testing. I have to wait a week for the results to come back, but the vet is not optimistic. I am going to schedule an abdominal X-Ray for Betsy which will show how much the mass has matastisized.

This is why I need your help. Betsy's medical bills already have exceeded $2,000 and she will need surgery to remove the mass and possibly radiation to remove the cancer. Betsy is the sweetest most loving dog anyone has ever met. She's my baby girl and I can't imagine my life without her. Please help us raise money to save my little angel.
