Hey there! My name is Bandit. But my friends and family call me Stinker. I'm a horse! But not just any horse. I’m totally amazing -- I'm big and bold on the outside but really I'm just a happy-funny-mischievous dude. My mom and her friends say I'm GORGEOUS! Yep. I'm loved and admired by all who know me.

Except something terrible has happened. I scratched my eyeball! Ugh. It's a super painful ulceration. Despite getting around-the-clock intensive and loving care from my mom and aunties for the past two weeks, I've taken a turn for the worst and am now in the horse hospital. I have a terrible infection. The treatment they give me is labor intensive and really challenging. The vets here are trying to reduce my pain and make me comfortable. I hear the doctors talking about me and they say I need some aggressive treatments or they might have to remove my eye. Please, save my eye! I even hear them talking about maybe putting me down. Nope! We don't want that! Haven't they heard? I'm a survivor ...
Here you can see the ulceration ... ouch!

And ewww, the infection.

You see, I met my mom -- my savior, my sould mate and my best friend -- when I arrived at the ranch where I've lived for the past 9 years. She said it was love at first sight. On my way there, there was an accident and the trailer flipped. My knee was badly injured. And I was really fearful of people. But she gave me a lot of TLC and rehabilitated me into the shining beast I am today where I get to ride through the hills, say hello to all the kids who like to pet me and frolick with my horsemates. I love eating apples, being groomed and getting into mischieve with my friends.

I’m here because my mom is stretched to the max with my care. She needs some help to save me. I'll be OK without an eyeball ... but it won't be OK if I have to leave before my time.
Can you help? Any amount will help! Anything you donate will help me continue to have a happy healthy life. If there's anything left over after my medical bills are covered, my mom will donate it all to charity.

Thanks for the love!
And hey, this is fun! Some of my aunties are making it easy for you if you want to do some holiday shopping and make a donation to my recovery at the same time:
You can pre-order the Bandit Bracelet from Atelierbits and 15% of the proceeds will help fund my care. The retail price is $115 (of which $17.25 will go to my recovery). Visit www.atelierbits.com to order ... and say hello to my Auntie Cindy! This special lasts until Christmas.

You can also order this 8x10 signed fine art photographic print for $50 and 100% of the proceeds will go towards my care. Just put a note "I'm buying the pretty horses photo" in the comments section & my Auntie Denise will be in touch to see where you want the print to be sent. The photo is printed on 8 1/2x11 fine art paper. Larger sizes for a larger donation are available. Please email [email redacted] to discuss.
