Saving Ziptie - a 4-year-old rescue Rat Terrier who has a growth inside his rectum. It makes it very difficult and uncomfortable for him to defecate. If it tears or ruptures, it would be an excruciatingly painful situation that most likely would lead to him being put to sleep due to infection and complications.
We have taken him to the vet and only recently have they said this is more serious than we thought. I am a single mom with high-functioning autism. I am recovering from two major surgeries, one in my left hip and one in my lower back. To say this is a devastating situation for my son and me would be minor. Ziptie isn’t just our emotional support dog my therapist recommended us adopting. He is our family, he is part of the ride-or-die team. We won’t give up on him. We will do everything we can, but we could really use the help.
The vet estimated that the surgery would cost anywhere from $800-$2,000. That depends on what they are working with once they open him up. It could require a longer surgery time, certain equipment/tools, longer sedation, etc.
Any amount towards Ziptie’s surgery would mean the world to us.
