Hi, our names are Nick and Brianna, and we are trying to raise funds for our boy, Zeus. He is a three-year-old pitbull mix. After almost a year of dating, we made the decision to adopt a dog. He was about four months old when we met him at the SPCA adoption truck at Clovis Fest. Brianna put her hand on the glass, and Zeus lifted his paw to her. It was love at first sight.
After turning one, we found out Zeus had an unknown type of liver issue. We have been trying to maintain his liver numbers with medication and prescription food, which has been expensive but manageable. Now, today we received devastating news. Zeus went in for a fractured dew claw, and before doing their procedure, they did bloodwork and discovered Zeus' liver numbers have elevated to over four times the normal value, and he's at risk for liver failure. The vet called and said Zeus will need to go to UC Davis for advanced medical care. We are asking everyone to share this story as we are trying to raise funds to cover the upfront costs for a liver ultrasound and possibly a liver biopsy. All funds will be used for Zeus' upfront medical expenses, and any leftover will be donated to local animal and shelter charities. Thank you all for reading, and please help us save our boy and give him the longest life we can provide.
