Save Zak & his family from Taliban persecution

Zak was flown to a country in the Middle East. I anticipate significant relocation and settlement expenses. To date, I've sent Zak over $10k from this account. Thank you for your continued support. There is still much work to be done. We are still fighting for his Visa approval. 

Zak served as an interpreter with the Marines from 2010-2011 during the deadliest battle in the entire war. 

His heroism and service are well known to the Marines he worked alongside. On multiple occasions, Zak went above and beyond his duty as a translator and rushed across minefields to help his Marines. 

The Taliban left night letters around the area of operation that mentions Zak by name. The letters explicitly expressed their intent to kill him and his family.  When the Marines left Sangin, Afghanistan, they left a brother.

Zak, his four kids, and wife are under constant threat from the taliban. He is in a province under taliban control. When he heard that the US was leaving, Zak sent me a message pleading for his life, but more importantly to save his wife and children.

Zak submitted his immigration application over five years ago. The current backlog of applications would take another four years to clear. We have less than four months to get this done. 

Zak’s life depends on the money raised here. I need to hire an attorney with SIV experience. I’ve spent the last two months speaking with dozens of attorneys and was unable to secure one pro bono. All of the charities and other services like IRAP that assist with immigration are not taking any new clients. 

This money will go directly to Zak’s legal fees. An immigration attorney has to navigate the current roadblocks. If there’s any money left over, it will support Zak and his family when they (God willing) arrive in the US.  Specifically, their cost of travel to include fight expenses, housing, and transportation.

Zak put his life on the line for our country. The very least we can do is offer his family a chance at survival in the land of the free and home of the brave.
