Hello everyone. My name is Patti & this fundraiser is for my beautiful best friend Zaagiin (which in my own way translates into “my love” in Ojibwa).

This afternoon, after a long holiday weekend with family out of town, we finally got back home. I noticed that she was not her usual, playful, alert, active, loving doggy self. She was just laying there, looking at me - like “mama, I don’t feel good!” I know many people don’t think that dogs can communicate with us, but let me tell you - she definitely gave me the signals. I then proceeded to check her, felt her entire body, looked at her eyes, paws, fur, and then finally mouth. I also tried to listen to her heart but I don’t have the right tools. Her gums were white; she was not normal from my assessment. So I then proceeded to call the vet.

The vet told me to bring her in immediately. After a couple of hours at the vet, they gave me the news that she may have a ruptured spleen, a tumor, and internal bleeding & several options to consider. All options were expensive, so here I am asking for help. They said they could do it at the earliest tomorrow morning. I should have the X-rays as soon as they send them, and I will update the pictures to show you. We will know more tomorrow.
