Help Save Yuka’s Life — Our Therapy Dog Needs Us
Hi, my name is Aryana, and I’m reaching out for help during one of the hardest moments of my life.
My dog Yuka, a Bluetick Coonhound/Husky mix, is currently fighting for his life. What started as a mild change in behavior suddenly turned into a medical emergency. His temperature skyrocketed to 105.6°F, and he was rushed to the vet, where they now believe he’s suffering from sepsis — a dangerous, whole-body infection that can lead to organ failure or death if not treated quickly.
Yuka has already received 8 hours of IV fluids, antibiotics, and emergency care, but his fever remains dangerously high. He now needs to be transferred to a 24-hour emergency hospital for advanced care, overnight monitoring, and possibly a feeding tube to support him through the night.
I’ve already paid $2,000 toward his initial treatment. His continued care is expected to cost another $3,000–$5,000 — and while I’m prepared to go into debt if I have to, I’m humbly asking for help so I don’t have to face this alone.
Yuka isn’t just my dog — he’s a registered therapy dog with Canines for Christ, offering comfort and emotional support to people in crisis. He was scheduled to travel to Kerrville this week to attend a funeral and provide love and healing to families affected by the recent flood. Instead of serving others, Yuka is now the one who needs help — to survive, to heal, and to continue his mission of bringing peace to those in pain.
If you’ve ever known a dog with a soul like that, you know how special he is. Yuka has comforted strangers in hospitals, sat quietly beside grieving families, and helped me through the darkest moments of my life. Now, I just want to return the favor.
If you’re able to give anything — even $5 or $10, it will go directly toward Yuka’s emergency care. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this with others who might be able to help. Your love, prayers, and support mean everything right now.
Thank you for standing with us.
— Aryana
