On Friday, we found Yoshi tied to a tree in a field in Detroit. He was malnourished but had the sweetest, most trusting eyes, and from the moment we untied him, we knew he deserved a second chance. We didn’t expect to fall in love so quickly, but Yoshi instantly felt like family. He’s now living in our home with us and our other dog, King. The two bonded right away—they share toys, play together, and even nap side by side like brothers.

After bringing Yoshi home, we took him to the vet on Monday for his first check-up and vaccinations, and everything seemed fine. But by Tuesday, he started getting very sick—vomiting and severe diarrhea. We rushed him to Animal Emergency Center in Rochester, Michigan, where he was diagnosed with parvovirus, a life-threatening illness for dogs. He is currently hospitalized, fighting hard, and being treated by the incredible team there. He needs an additional shot and likely more time in the hospital to recover.

Yoshi is pure love and resilience in a tiny body. Despite everything he has been through, he is gentle, affectionate, and so grateful for every bit of care and comfort. From the moment he met our other dog, King, they became inseparable—playing together, running in the yard, and curling up like lifelong best friends. He’s already brought so much joy to our family in such a short time. Yoshi deserves to experience the happy life he’s just begun to know.

Parvo treatment is intensive and costly, and we’ve already spent as much as we can to get him stabilized. The additional treatment and extra time in the hospital are critical for Yoshi’s survival. We’re asking for help because we want to give him the fighting chance he deserves. Bringing Yoshi home healthy means bringing our family back together—King misses his brother, and we can’t imagine life without him now. Every contribution will help us save Yoshi’s life and give him the future he deserves.
