Save YoLO: Asheville's "HAPPY PLACE"
Donation protected

Hi and thank you for reading this story! My name is Ami Flynn (of Jacksonville FL) I am raising funds for my sister's small local business called YoLo, a frozen yogurt and ice cream shop in Asheville, NC, that suffered from the flooding rains prior to Hurricane Helene and its aftermath.
- On September 27th, they lost all power and water, which closed their business for 6 weeks. This not only was a horrific catastrophe for so many local owners but at the height of their peak tourist season before the slow winter months.
- YoLo has been a local fixture in the AVL area for 13 years and is a unique and true old-fashioned mom and pop shop that serves fresh local ingredients.
- The Helfrich family that owns YoLo have invested their lives into their business and with considerable hardship during the pandemic managed to continue serving their wonderful customers, the heart and soul of their business and what their customers call "their happy place."
- Along with their 7 wonderful employees, the Helfrich family has always been a part of the day-to-day business and getting to know their customers.
Fortunately no damage was done to the building but the area took a hard hit by trees and power lines down. With the loss of revenue and perishables, they are working hard to reopen, as of November 7th with limited hours and without potable water (a job in itself to bring in clean water and cleaning machines every day)! All donations will be used to purchase products, inventory and pay bills to keep the business open. Please consider thoughtfully to help YoLo get through the coming months. I know the Helfrich family would be eternally grateful during these times of uncertainty.
