### Help for Yodi: Urgent Surgery to Save His Leg

Hi everyone,

My name is Frank. My girlfriend Dezarae and I are reaching out for help on behalf of our beloved dog, Yodi. He was wandering the desert searching for help as he was starving and didn't seem to have much time left. He came upon us while we were camping in the desert in Joshua Tree, California, a couple of months ago in August. We fell in love with his charismatic charm, and he instantly became part of the family. He's a German Shepherd who's about 7 months old and impressively smart. He loves running, playing with his stuffed animal toys, helping us with projects around the house, playing with his big bro Finrir (Boxer), greeting everyone with his barks, and cuddling with his pack—3 dogs, a cat, and us. But right now, he's in pain and facing a heartbreaking challenge.

Yesterday, Yodi suffered a tragic accident. We were driving down the road when either Yodi or his brother Fin rolled the window down in the backseat. We usually have the child locks on, but for whatever reason, this wasn't the case, and Yodi fell out. We rushed him to the vet, where X-rays revealed a severe fracture in his left femur. The vet explained that without immediate surgery to repair the bone, Yodi could lose his leg entirely. While the vet assured us that most dogs can still lead a long and fulfilling happy life with only three legs, Yodi is a large dog and already has mobility issues in his hind legs due to a birth defect and would naturally benefit from being able to heal the injured leg. We want him to have the best puppy life possible...as we all do for our loved ones.

The surgery, including pre-op tests, the procedure itself, post-op care, medications, and follow-up visits, is estimated to cost $5,000–$7,000. As much as we'd love to cover this ourselves, it's beyond what we can afford right now due to the high cost of living. With the holidays around the corner, we have decided that our Christmas presents to each other will be to help him as much as we possibly can. Every dollar raised will go directly toward Yodi's medical expenses—I've attached a breakdown from the vet clinic for transparency.
