My name is William Welch, and I am a hobby beekeeper in Central Texas. I have had bees for eight years, and currently have eleven colonies. Due to health issues, I am way behind on my property taxes and at risk of losing my land, and having to destroy or attempt to find new homes for my bees. I love beekeeping and hope I can find help to keep my land and continue to raise bees for many years. I'm 61 and not yet eligible for social security, and because of several health issues have difficulty finding outside employment. I have managed to eke out a living for the last five years by removing and relocating bees from peoples homes, sheds/outbuildings, and businesses. Last year was extremely slow, and so far this year I haven't received a single call for a removal/relocation. My health issues are: I was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis (NF) about twenty eight years ago, and an essential tremor in my arms about fifteen years ago, and was afflicted with optic neuritis in my left eye, leaving me mostly blind in that eye, about eight years ago. I also have regular incidents of vertigo. I'm not eligible for disability, as I do not have enough credits, and won't be able to start receiving social security for another year and a half. I hoping to receive enough help here to save my apiary, or bee yard, and continue saving and relocating bees to my land. I live basically off-grid, in a tiny cabin, so I don't currently have room to process and sell honey, although that is the eventual goal. Any help to allow me to keep my land, and continue to rescue bees, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any consideration.
