John O'Loughlin, My Uncle, left his job in the recent years to pursue a dream of creating an organic farm (Wild Irish Farm) to have work that he can be proud of, that gave him a sense of fulfilment, that has a positive impact on his community and of course to provide for his family.
since the day he made that decision he has been met with difficulties and obstacles every step of the way, if it could of gone wrong, it did.
John has had immense amounts of unexpected expenses and barriers. such as,
Having his hay barn be destroyed by a storm shortly after purchasing his property, and having to pay for its removal.
Having his pig pens left in shambles do to storms
and most detrimentally having his beloved Polytunnel left in ruins by Ireland most severe storm ever 'storm eowyn'
This polytunnel was one of the only positive things that had happened to Wild Irish Farm and it enabled John to produce much more than he could without it as it gave his crops shelter from the harsh Irish weather. But it did not come cheap as it was an extremely expensive investment which is not possible for him to repurchase. The Polytunnel is the heart of the farm and something that the farm cant afford not to be replace but unfortunately he cannot afford to replace it on his own.
through all these struggles Johns commitment to Wilf Irish Farm has never faltered but there is only so much you can overcome on your own.
