Save Whopper's life from IMHA
Donation protected
Whopper is my 5 year old rescue cat with IMHA (Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia), a life-threatening autoimmune disorder that causes her body attack its own red blood cells. IMHA is survivable with long term treatment. Her illness has a tendency to flare up when she is stressed- especially if she is ever around other cats.
Our family's home was badly damaged in both hurricane Helene and hurricane Milton, and the only safe place we could take her was to a house with another cat. despite being kept in a secluded room, the traveling has been hard on her and her health is declining rapidly. Without immediate medical attention and possibly a blood transfusion she could be dead in a matter of weeks. My family's financial situation after the storm means we wont be able to cover the expenses to keep her alive without a lot of help. We are currently back to living in the house, but it needs many more repairs and we haven't even begun to replace all that we lost.
With enough help, we can pay for genetic testing to determine and address the cause of Whopper's IMHA and come up with a long term treatment plan instead of just giving her steroids and crossing our fingers.
Please, if you're able, help us save Whopper's life. Those who know me know I hate to ask for help, especially with money, but I don't know what I would do without her. I would rather lose everything else I have than lose her. I feel completely hopeless and powerless. I'm begging you, please help us is any way you can.
