SAVE WHITE CLIFF COUNTRY FROM ENVIRONMENTAL CATASTROPHE

Hello, we are Dianne & Steve and we are helping to fight a serious battle against a mammoth private commercial development of 60 acres only 400 metres from Dover's beautiful white cliffs. The project is not a government backed proposition either at central or local level. It is a private venture for private gain in a designated AREA of OUTSTANDING NATURAL BEAUTY (AONB), now known as National Landscapes.

We are representing an Action Group brought together locally in East Kent to fight very strongly against the proposals. My picture very much tells the story. We acknowledge the need for truck parks. We acknowledge the need for safe areas for commercial drivers to stop and rest. We do not accept nor acknowledge the necessity to construct such an industrial and commercial enterprise adjacent to the White Cliffs of Dover and in the middle of a beautiful landscape.

We are in need of funds to promote our campaign and to draw the spotlight on the potential precedent that this outrageous development might set Nationwide. Never before has an industrial development on this scale been allowed on an AONB designated site. The funds are required for promotional items, legal expenses, meeting hires, websites and many other sundry costs. Until this point, the funding has been met by the 15 strong action group from their personal coffers. https://www.truckoff.org/

Living so close to this proposed site, we are personally concerned about the impact it will have on my quality of life and that of my neighbours. The constant coming and going of lorries at all hours promises a barrage of noise and fumes, which will shatter the peacefulness we've long enjoyed in our neighbourhood. Our community deserves better than to be overwhelmed by the industrial scale activity this lorry park will bring.

Beyond the immediate disruptions, there's a broader picture to consider. Our villages rely on the harmonious balance between human habitation and the natural landscape, a balance that is under threat if this lorry park proceeds. Experts have long highlighted the importance of preserving AONBs, not just for their aesthetic value but for the role they play in biodiversity conservation and local climate regulation. Allowing a project of this magnitude to take place sets a dangerous precedent for future developments in cherished landscapes across the UK.

Instead of moving forward with plans that disregard local voices and the environment, we urge the decision-makers to consider alternative locations that are industrially appropriate, away from residential and sensitive natural areas. There are other, less harmful ways to address the logistics and transportation needs far removed from disrupting the lives of our villagers and the health of our natural environment.

We implore you to join us in standing against this proposed lorry park and advocate for the preservation of our peaceful way of life. Your donation can help steer decision-makers toward more sustainable and community-friendly solutions that truly respect our land and heritage.

Please we ask you to give generously. We need to fight this with all we have not only for our glorious national Landscape but to fight the potential precedent on behalf of the other 33 National Landscapes in England.
