My name is Jazmine, and I am reaching out with a heartfelt plea to support an incredible organization that has been a beacon of hope for so many young people in our community: WES for Youth Online.

Mental health struggles affect us all, but in small towns like Walkerton, the impact can be devastating. I’ve personally witnessed the heartbreaking loss of bright, young lives to suicide—a pain that no family, friend, or community should have to endure.

WES for Youth Online provides free, confidential online counseling for youth aged 13–24—a service that breaks down barriers like cost, transportation, and stigma. For many, it’s the only accessible support system they have, offering help during their darkest moments.

Why This Matters

We’re losing this lifeline. Without financial support, WES for Youth Online risks being unable to continue their critical work. This service isn’t just important—it’s saving lives. In rural areas like ours, suicide rates are higher than the provincial average, especially among youth. This organization gives young people a safe space to reach out, to heal, and to find hope again.

I don’t want to see another beautiful soul lost to suicide in Walkerton or anywhere else. The money raised here will go directly to WES for Youth Online through GoFundMe to ensure their counselors can continue providing vital support to youth in need.
