Her name is Victoria. She’s only 10 months old. And she’s been in agony for days.
On Saturday, this tiny kitten fell from a window in a high-rise block. She was rushed to a vet — but when her owners couldn’t afford the treatment, they left with only a bandage and some pain relief.
And then nothing.
She was left like that.
With a shattered leg.
With her bone sticking out through the skin.
No surgery.No chance.
An open fracture.
Three days.
Three days of silent, unthinkable pain.
An open fracture is one of the worst injuries a cat can suffer.
The bone breaks and pushes through the skin, leaving it exposed to dirt, bacteria and infection. It’s agonising. And deadly if not treated immediately.
This baby has been lying with her leg like that, alone, broken, in constant, burning pain. Can you imagine how scared she must have been? Can you imagine the suffering she couldn't voice?
We can’t stop thinking about what she’s endured.
Today we got the call — three days later — because no one had a plan. No one followed up. No one could help.
So we dropped everything. We rushed her to a specialist. She’s now in hospital, finally receiving the IV antibiotics and pain relief she should have had the moment this happened.
But we’re terrified it's too late.
The fracture has been open for too long. Infection has likely set in. Her leg is probably not salvageable.
She may lose her limb.
At only 10 months old.
And yes — we’re angry.
Not just because of what she’s suffered, but because this didn’t need to happen.
Because the cost of vet care is high and when people get animals they do not consider that being a factor of owning a pet. Animals like Victoria are left to suffer.
Once again, we’re left picking up the pieces — with no money in the jar and more heartbreak than we can carry.
But Victoria is a Protected Paw now.
And we will do everything in our power to make her feel safe, loved, and free from pain — whether we can save her leg or not.
But we can’t do it alone.
Please, we are begging:
