This is Vicki. She is a bubbly 62 year old mother and grandma to two little toddlers. Right now, Vicki should be soaking up the sun, enjoying a delicious tropical drink while sinking her toes in the sands of some of Indonesia's world-famous crystalline beaches; instead, our sweet matriarch finds herself unconscious, tangled up in tubes and wires, in a hospital bed, under observation after undergoing emergency brain surgery.  Vicki, along with her sons, daughter-in-law and grandson embarked on what should have been a thrilling vacation of a lifetime to Bali, but merely hours after arriving, she carelessly took a misstep down a flight of stairs and fell thunderously. This proved to be a nearly fatal lapse in judgement. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, and within days prepped for brain surgery. The resulting impact from the fall caused a cranial fracture, and hemorrhagic stroke. She incurred a large hematoma, and cerebral bleeding.
    VICKI now resides, still in mortal peril, under watch at the Balinese ICU. The surgerical costs have thus far mounted to nearly $30,000 including medical stay, which remains indefinite. We anticipate additional thousands of dollars will be needed in her care, rehabilitation and recovery. 
  Our family has been precipitously devastated. We may not ever have the Vicki we knew back.  While the future is yet grim and unknown, we are hopeful. 
    Without any insurance and in a foreign land, funds are, of course, quickly exhausted and unaffordable. We now ask and appeal to your sympathies towards our most worthy cause.
Without financial help, this family will swiftly plummet into monetary distress and may have the course of our lives even more tragically altered. 
For now, we are happy she is breathing, resting and living.
