Our names are Tristian Reid & Kianna Kareem, and we are the owners of Vegan Junk Food DMV — a small, veteran-owned, family-run vegan restaurant built from faith, sacrifice, and love for our community.

On Wednesday 10/22/25, we were unexpectedly given 48 hours notice to vacate our restaurant location, due to the entire Solaire Social food hall closing. Our last operating day is Friday, October 24th until 8pm. This restaurant is our family’s only source of income, and we now face losing everything we worked for with no time to prepare or transition.

We are heartbroken — but we are not giving up.

We are raising funds to purchase a food truck so we can keep serving our community without relying on landlords or unstable leasing agreements. A food truck gives us independence, security, and the ability to continue working while we rebuild.

It also allows us to continue what matters most to us: feeding the community — especially during the holidays, when so many families are struggling.

We want to be able to show up with food, love, and dignity for the people who have supported us from day one.

This fundraiser isn’t just about saving a business — it’s about preserving our purpose.
