Help Us Save Our Beloved Old-Growth Oak Tree
We’re reaching out to our community to help save a magnificent old-growth oak tree that has stood for generations, providing shade, beauty, and a haven for local wildlife - and now it serves as our outdoor classroom at Valley View Elementary! This towering guardian is more than just a tree—it’s a living piece of history, rooted deeply in the heart of our neighborhood.
Recently, arborists let us know that the tree is at risk of splitting due to the natural weight of its expansive branches, but it can be saved. With the proper support cables installed, we can preserve its full, healthy canopy and prevent catastrophic damage.
But we need your help. The total cost to install the necessary cabling is $4,000. Every dollar raised will go directly to the preservation of this tree. Your support will:
Prevent this majestic oak from splitting apart
Maintain habitat for birds, squirrels, and pollinators
Preserve a natural landmark that inspires the students who learn under it''s canopy and everyone who walks by
If you’ve ever sat under this tree’s shade, admired its strength, or simply believe in protecting our urban natural treasures, we invite you to contribute whatever you can. No amount is too small.
Let’s come together to protect this irreplaceable part of our shared landscape.
Thank you for helping us keep this oak standing tall for generations to come.
