Heartworm Crisis
Bonded brothers fighting for their lives
Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue & Louisville Weimaraner Rescue rescued Max and Jack; 6 year old brothers who were living outside 24/7 - calling an 8x8 wire kennel "Home".
As if they've not been through enough - their vet visit revealed they are both heartworm positive. Chest x-rays were necessary to see the extent of heart and lung damage. Best medical advice indicates they can hopefully be saved, but the protocol is painful, expensive and lengthy.

Please donate and help get Max & Jack through their 6 month-long treatment.
Funds will cover treatment costs for Max & Jack and purchase heartworm prevention for all of the dogs in GLWR care. (Our dogs are on HW prevention 12 months a year - costing $7000+ annually).
While GLWR receives a manufacturers' discount, the cost per tablet has increased 100% in the past two years.
Preventing deadly heartworm is simple. One monthly tablet. It's a killer and it's preventable.
More about the brothers
Jack is blue Max is silver - these biological siblings always have to be touching. We've NEVER met a more bonded pair.
Max is dependent on Jack. They sleep nestled into each other, sharing the same bed. They are the sweetest boys with no vices - just looking for warmth and love and eventually a forever home to call their own.
Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue is an all-volunteer foster-home based group and our mission is the rescue and placement of Weimaraners in the Great Lakes Region. We are a private foundation formed in May 2005 and are a federally recognized non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Based in West Michigan, GLWR's network of dedicated foster homes service MI, WI, IN, IL, OH and Ontario, Canada.
