Save Upper Lonsdale Preschool!
We’re almost there!
We’re just $15,500 away from our goal!
Thanks to the incredible generosity of the North Shore community (that’s you!), we’ve made amazing progress—and we’re almost at the finish line.
There’s still time to give, and every donation gets us closer. Whether it’s your first time or you’re able to give again, thank you for being part of this.
Why does this matter?
Because ULP isn’t just a preschool. It’s a place where kids get to slow down, feel safe, ask big questions, and be fully themselves. That’s worth protecting.
We’re so grateful for all your encouragement and support. It’s been a tough season, but wow—what a community we have.
Huge thanks to our generous business supporters so far: North Lonsdale United Church, TD Bank, Whole Foods North Shore, and Chemtrade. Know a business that might want to help? Let us know—we’d love to connect.
I’m writing on behalf of Upper Lonsdale Preschool (ULP), a non-profit preschool that offers a play-based program where 3- and 4-year-old children on the North Shore are welcome to explore, learn and grow together.
Since ULP was founded in 1954, we have drawn on a mix of community fundraising and parent involvement to deliver quality programming to our students while maintaining tuition fees that are accessible to families in our North Shore community.
Unfortunately, with recent changes to public funding for child care centers, the continued impact of the pandemic on families’ needs, and a challenging economic climate, our preschool will be forced to close after the 2024-2025 academic year without additional financial support from our community.
We are thus seeking corporate and foundation support for ULP to provide a bridge for our preschool through the next academic year. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $38,000 before May 31, 2025.
