With your help and the funds raised, we’ve already been able to save several beautiful souls from the streets of Turkey, including a very last minute rescue named Wilson, who I rescued from a beach just days before I was due to fly home. Alongside the dog we named Benny, both are now safe and soon heading to Germany where they’ll be adopted into loving homes. Also saved was the brave mother (grey and black) and her six tiny puppies who would have struggled to survive outside the petrol station.

Thanks to your kindness, all six of her pups have now been rehomed into wonderful local families, and the best part is, they’re growing up seeing each other regularly, staying connected like the little family they are.

While I was living in Turkey for three months during the winter of 2024, I fed 10 street dogs in my village. Fast forward 6 months, by complete chance, I saw 2 of the dogs in a photo posted on Facebook by a stranger who had visited the local municipality shelter in Fethiye, a place I can only describe as a death camp. Out of hundreds of forgotten faces, she happened to capture ‘my’ dogs. I knew they wouldn’t survive a month in there. Within 24 hours, I had them out and into a safe new home. With the new law in Turkey, millions of street dogs are now being collected and killed, regardless of age, health, or temperament. The collection process is brutal, workers are fined if they don’t abide. Dogs are being rounded up and dumped into overcrowded shelters where starvation, disease, and violence await them.

Prince and Violet had a lucky escape, the family have nothing, yet they took them in without question all because I asked. I am asking to repay them with support to feed the dogs, provide vet care and provide toys, beds & shelter as the summer comes.
