Turkey is a sweet, gentle 6-month-old Guatemalan puppy who has already been through more than any dog should ever face. On Thursday night, he was severely injured by a machete in a cruel act, leaving his loving family heartbroken and desperate to save him.

Despite his broken skull and pain, Turkey is still eating, alert, and fighting to live. His spirit is strong — he just needs a chance. The veterinarians say that a complex and costly surgery is the only way to save his life.

Turkey’s family is humble, hardworking, and completely devoted to him. They’ve done everything they can, but this unexpected expense is far beyond their means. Our rescue’s funds are already stretched to the limit caring for other animals, so we’re turning to our community for help.

Turkey deserves to live — to chase toys, wag his tail, and keep bringing joy to the family that loves him so deeply.
