Save Tosa Inu Pups: Urgent Help Needed

Hello!

We are the Tosa Inu Club of America and we are in urgent need of help to give some deserving pups and dogs new homes and a chance at life!

Last week we were notified of a developing situation:

A gentleman had acquired several adult Tosas and one of the females had puppies. As this breed is very healthy, litters of 10 or more are very common. The dogs in question were no exception. 15 puppies were born and have been under the gentleman and his family's care for the last 5 months. He has been doing what he can. However, this is far too much for him to take care of.

Further, his neighbors and the city have given him an ultimatum.

As if that wasn't enough, on Thursday, April 17th, another litter of five puppies were born, of which two have already passed.

To make matters worse, the mother of the puppies started behaving poorly and after some investigation she has been diagnosed with pyometra. The gentleman cannot afford the surgery and the female dog is in critical condition.

We need help to get to the dogs and puppies, they are on the other side of the country.

We need help feeding them and seeing to their medical needs.

We need help with supplies for housing the 20+ dogs and puppies. (We have some of what we will need but there is much still needed.)

We need help to afford the operation and save the mother of the youngest pups.

We are finding them homes and will need help getting them to those homes.

If we can raise at least $2,000 per animal we can make sure they get all that they need in transport, food, and medical care.

Any help at all can go a long way to save the lives of these dogs and their owners. Please give and share this with as many people as you can.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

I. Veterinary and Medical Care:

• Spay/Neuter: $200

• Vaccinations: $50 each, with boosters.

• Testing: Heartworm, parasites, Parvo, etc. $100 each.

• General Exam: $75-$100 each.

• Medications:

o Flea/tick $20/month each

o heartworm preventative $20/month each

o Dewormer $20/month each.

• Emergency Care: Variable, depending on the situation.

II. Food & Supplies:

• Food: $150 per month

• Treats & Chews: We will provide.

• Toys, Beds, Bowls: We will provide.

• Cleaning Supplies: We will provide.

III. Other Costs:

• Transport: $1,000 per animal

• Training: $1,000 per animal (We will provide)

• Housing:

o Indoor Crate for inclement weather $150 per dog

o Kennel Enclosure Supplies $1000 per dog

o Kennel Enclosure construction - We will provide

• Facility Costs: We will provide

• Fundraising & Marketing: $100 per month each

III. Total Costs:

• Initial: $3,910 per dog

• Recurring monthly: $310 per dog
