Hello , I’m Lydia and I am fundraising on behalf of my friend Novie who lives in Qatar and helps rescue sick stray cats.

Novie’s message:

Tortie is a stray cat I found in a heartbreaking condition… weak, exhausted and very sick.

She suddenly appeared one day at my feeding station, but she didn’t come for food… she came for help. She was clearly crying out to be saved. Her fur was badly matted, a sign that she had been struggling for a long time and was too unwell to even groom herself.

I couldn’t walk away and ignore her.

I shared her story, hoping someone would step in to help me help her… and someone did. Help came and because of that kindness, I was able to bring Tortie to the vet. Soon, more people came together, offering support, love and prayers. It truly means everything for her.

Tortie has already undergone CBC and blood tests. Thankfully, her liver and kidneys are functioning well, with no signs of blockage or bile-related issues. However, her protein levels are higher than normal due to inflammation and her platelet count is lower than it should be. She is currently being closely monitored.

She is suffering from flu and a chronic infection, which was confirmed through a chest X-ray. This explains the heavy nasal discharge she’s been experiencing. Because of this, Tortie requires nebulization twice a day to help her breathe, along with antibiotics and vitamins to fight the infection.

She was also tested for FELV and FIV, and thankfully, both results came back negative.

Despite everything she has been through, Tortie is still fighting.

When she was admitted, she weighed only 2 kg… fragile and barely holding on. But with care and treatment, she has already gained 0.7 kg. Every small improvement is a sign of her strength and her will to live.

Tortie has been in the clinic since March 28, 2026, and continues to receive treatment for her chronic infection. Each day she stays adds to the growing medical expenses.

Unfortunately, the cost of her treatment, medications, procedures and ongoing care is more than I can manage alone.

I’m asking for your help to give Tortie the chance she deserves… a chance to fully heal and live a safe and happy life.
