Dear friends and family,
My name is Zachary and I am the son of a hard working and loving father named Tim. If you know my dad you know he has a wicked sense of humor and an incredible heart. I am writing this today to ask for your help.
Six years ago my father's health took a turn for the worse when he started having troubles with his sight due to his diabetes and was diagnosed with Diabetic Retinopathy. Due to an unexpected financial hardship my father has fallen behind on his medical bills causing him to not be able to afford to see the doctor to receive the necessary procedures to prolong his vision. Currently he has lost vision in his left eye due to hemorrhaging steaming from his struggle with diabetes. Without treatment he can lose his sight completely in both eyes.

What is Diabetic Retinopathy?
Diabetic Retinopathy is a complication of diabetes that can cause vision loss and even blindness. It occurs when high blood sugar levels damage tiny blood vessels in the retina, causing them to leak or hemorrhage, ultimately distorting vision once progressed to severe levels. While diabetic retinopathy is not reversible, it is a highly preventable disease. By staying up to date with eye exams and by controlling his blood sugar, he may be able to slow the disease altogether. Effective treatments have been established that preserve
vision and dramatically reduce the risk of vision loss.
Unfortunately these treatments are very painful and expensive, ranging from seven to ten thousand dollars per treatment, per eye. Every penny donated will go towards getting our father up to date on his medical expenses as well as treatments to correct his vision.
With these treatments, my father will be able to continue to be the outstanding Father, Son and Grandpa that he is. He'll be able to watch my beautiful niece and nephew grow up and daily life in general will be better. It is my hope that we can work together to change my father's life forever. Together we can make a difference.
