My name is Lexi and I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister to hopefully raise money for the vet expenses for their family cat, Tigger. My sister and her family adopted their first fur baby, Tigger, when he was just 3 years old. A woman found him outside of a daycare on Germantown Ave, where he loved to hangout with all of the kids and other pets that roamed around there. The woman posted in a local facebook group hoping to find a loving home for Tigger, and the rest is history. Tigger is a sassy but sweet little fella. When he isn’t snuggled up on the couch with one of my nieces or nephews, he spends his time roaming around the neighborhood (which he loves to do), making friends with the neighbors and eating all of the treats he can get his paws on. Not long ago, Tigger was brought to the vet to have testing done on what appeared to be a cyst on his front left paw. The vet informed my sister that the cyst was a benign tumor. She was advised by the vet that unless it were to grow in size, rupture, or starts to cause any discomfort, to just leave it be. It has since ruptured, causing some on & off bleeding, causing Tigger to be in a lot of discomfort to the point he is now limping. My sister brought Tigger to the emergency vet today, where they strongly advised immediate treatment, but due to the financial aspect of it, it was not able to be done today. The vet wants to do xrays and a biopsy and to remove the tumor, but stated that there will not be enough skin left to close, so they will likely have to amputate. Whichever route they choose to take, the tumor absolutely has to be removed one way or another, sooner than later. In the meantime, they were able to at least provide pain meds and antibiotics to hopefully give Tigger some temporary relief. With that being said, as many other’s are facing financial struggles of their own, my sister and her family are going through that as well. They have absolutely zero wiggle room in their budget right now to pay the astronomical amount they were given to cover the expenses of the urgent vet care that Tigger so desperately requires. If you are able to donate or at least share, it would mean the world to myself and most importantly, my sister, her 2 daughters & 2 sons, who absolutely ADORE Tigger. He has been a part of the family for 6 years now and the kids love him oh so much, especially my niece, Chayse. Tigger is her best friend & she spends almost every second of the day snuggled up with him. If you are not able to donate yourself but are willing to share, that in itself would help tremendously with getting the word out and hopefully helping us get Tigger the care he needs! Thank you❤️
Editing to update -
Hi everyone! Pictured below is our sweet fur baby, Tigger. We rescued him when he was 3 years old, and he is now 8. When he came to us, he had a small lump on his front left paw which we had tested at the vet, and we were told it's a benign and unless it grows in size or causes any discomfort, we could leave it be. A few months ago, it started growing - rapidly. It broke through his fur and became ulcerated and infected. He wasn't eating, was limping and in obvious pain. We took him to the emergency vet where they told us due to the size and location, his paw/leg will need to be anputated, and he was given antibiotics and pain meds. Luckily, after the first dose of antibiotics, he started running around like his normal wild self, eating and drinking, etc. we brought him in to another vet for diagnostics testing, where they (thankfully!) ruled out cancer, but did agree it would need to be amputated. We brought him back in a few weeks later for a check in, and they did another round of antibiotics for him and since then he has been his normal self, until now. He is starting to favor the paw again, limping a bit, and it appears to be growing again. We can't put off his surgery any longer and we really want to save him. He is still a fairly young, so playful and snuggly and we would be heartbroken to have to put him down, especially with lack of funds being the reason. Most of the $1100 that has already been donated by generous friends in our community has been depleted from the last 2 vet visits, which is why our goal has been raised to $3000. Thank you all for your consideration, thank you sooo much to those that have donated so far, and if you aren't able to donate, a SHARE could go a long way and would be appreciated ♥️
