BIG Update: Tiff's friends and colleagues have banded together to throw a 2 day fundraising event! #TiffaFight will be held August 1-2 at Conspiracy Cafe & Garden on Visayas Ave in Quezon City!  The event will have tons of local artists performing, an awesome all-night-long raffle, a super-fun lipsync battle with prizes, and of course great food and drinks available!  PLEASE check out www.TiffaFight.com for details and spread the word!

Tiffany Mason (aid worker, college professor , and my amazing girlfriend) needs your help!  Saturday, May 26th she began having uncontrollable seizures and has been hospitalized and in and out of the Intensive Care Unit ever since.

CT scan, MRI, spinal tap, blood work, everything has come back clean.  So we're lost for the cause of this.    Tiffany was diagnosed with PTSD  in 2013 when she fell victim to a terrorist group while doing aid work in the southern Philippines.  This trauma has affected every facet of her life and likely culminated in the uncontrollable near-constant seizures she is now experiencing.

Doctors think Psychogenic Nonepileptic Seizures (PNES)  could be the cause.   But we need to do a 24 hour Video Electroencephalography (VEEG)  test which will map the electrical activity in her brain to hopefully come up with a diagnosis and then we can figure out how to treat her.  The most promising treatment IF this is PNES is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) .

WE NEED FINANCIAL HELP to continue Tiffany’s treatment.  I’ve already spent $8,000USD  on her hospitalization.  The anti-seizure medicine is $100  / shot and she needs 4 a day to keep her "only" seizing 4-5 times a day.    With medicine, doctors fees, hospital fees, we’re spending $1000 a day and to be brutally honest:  I’m out of money.

If we aren’t able to raise funds quickly we’re going to have to discharge Tiffany.  We won’t be able to do the 24 hour VEEG test.   We won’t be able to determine the cause of these seizures.   We won’t be able to keep her in the hospital where she gets the care she needs. Even after the tests we're looking at a long, expensive road to recovery.

Tiffany’s grandmother passed away on Monday May 28th after being in the ICU for over a month.  Sadly, Tiffany couldn’t attend the funeral.  Her grandmother’s medical care cost the family over $30,000 USD which drained their savings as well.

PLEASE HELP.   Anything you can give to help this wonderful human being will be forever appreciated.  Tiffany has given SO MUCH for friends, families, and underprivileged children in the Philippines.    She’s the most caring and loving human being I’ve ever met.   She’s dedicated her life to helping others.  Now she needs YOUR help!

If you don't have a credit card you can deposit any donations to Tiffany's bank account.

GoFundMe has emailed w/ some concerns on this campaign to make sure this is legit.   So to be clear, we're using these funds to cover the $6600 we've already spent (receipts added below), the $1000 we're spending today on more medicine, on 24/7 nurse coverage ($100/day), on hopefully getting the Video EEG test ($1000), and on EMDR treatment for PNES from Dr. Sison out of Makati which is $100 / session.

Since GoFundMe is only USA, the money you deposit will go into my Bank of America account, I'll then wire it to the Philippines to reimburse what I've already spent and to pay for the rest of the treatment.  GoFundMe says I have to explain how the money will be handled (screencap of their email)  since Tiffany is the beneficiary.  Tiff's sister Erin and I have paid everything out of our pockets so far so we'll use the funds to cover what we've already paid and if there is any leftover, we'll apply the funds toward the ongoing treatment.

So, here are the receipts I had time to scan so far:
