Hello! My name is Ashley Holland. I’m a wife, mother, and RN in Fairmont, WV. Recently, on June 15th, 2025, Marion County, WV, experienced catastrophic flash floods, specifically the Locust Ave section of Fairmont. Multiple total losses for families. For others, many are facing terrible repercussions from this once every 200-year storm.

My mother’s neighbor, Tici, is one elderly sweet lady whose foundation is crumbling beneath her. Tici has lived in this home for 30 years. This home is paid for. This home is up to date on all taxes. Most importantly, this home has carried home insurance through Farmers Insurance for over 30 years.

However, Tici does live on a street off of Locust Ave, and due to Farmers Insurance not covering her for floods, she is now left to come up with enough money to save her home on her fixed income she’s barely surviving on as is. We as a family have come together to help purchase some floor jacks to help stabilize what’s left of the foundation. God bless my mother-in-law for the supply cost donation, and my husband for the time and work put in.

Although we are willing to put the time and work in, we lack funds and knowledge on this topic of foundations. We have a specialist coming out Sunday to give an estimate. Any time, knowledge, supplies, like, share, comment, or interaction with this post helps more than you’ll ever know.

Let’s band together and help our community. The Marion County code inspectors were out today and have spoken about her home needing to be condemned if not fixed timely.
