NEWEST UPDATE (Nov 8th 3:48pm): Thanks to EVERYONE involved, our precious seniors/neighbours and staff are now being taken care of!!! I am shutting down this GoFundMe now but wanted to thank EVERYONE for every thing they’ve done… donated, shared, word-of-mouth, prayers, thoughts and well-wishes… we couldn’t have done what little we’ve done without you.

UPDATE: Should staff receive their wages owed, funds will cover things like interest charges, late payment fees, overdraft fees, etc. as most people live paycheque to paycheque. Any remaining funds will go towards making sure residents are fed (should the organizations stepping in to help be unable to meet all of their needs)

I live next door to the Trillium retirement/care home located in Norwich, Ontario (south of Woodstock). A quick Google search will show you the travesty that is taking place literally next door!
Organizations/churches/families have sprung into action to relocate seniors that were given ONLY 17 DAYS to get out before the business closes its doors but (because they refuse to sign resignation letters and thought they were ineligible to receive EI), no one is helping the DEDICATED STAFF who are still showing up to work each and every day even after NOT BEING PAID, some for well over a month!!!
We need to help save these wonderful workers who have refused to abandon our seniors, who if we are lucky and blessed with a long life, will be us one day.
Anything you can donate, even a few dollars… or if you are only able to share this GoFundMe hopefully for others to donate, it would be so greatly appreciated! How we treat our most vulnerable as a society is a huge reflection on all of us. Please help me save the people who are literally saving our/my neighbours.
All funds collected will be used to pay staff so they can continue to volunteer their time and skills to protect our seniors and to PURCHASED FOOD as I found out last night that management has stopped all food delivery to the retirement home! THEY WILL NOT STARVE OUR CARE WORKERS OR OUR SENIORS who have been forced out with only 17 days notice. Please help any way you can!
