Save The Thunder Ferret - Vets Bill

We are Salina & Luke and we are raising money to pay for The Thunder Ferret's vet bill.

On Thursday 10th August our little cat, who we call The Thunder Ferret, was hit by a car. His pelvis was fractured, his hind legs dislocated and his right front leg was smashed. With these terrible injuries, he crawled from the street, through neighbours' back gardens, through two cat flaps, our lean-to, our kitchen and up our steep stairs, to let Salina know that he needed help.

And so we are compelled to help him survive this trauma. He earned his name by his sleekness and his constant calling, talking, and when he is excited shouting. He fills our home. He is a wonderful ever-happy, loud presence.

And now he is in Royal Veterinary College Hospital, Hatfield, where they have spent 6 hours of surgery to fix his broken pelvis and pin his back legs. They think it went well.

When he is sufficiently recovered, they will assess his front leg. They will likely recommend that it is amputated.

So far the bill is estimated to be £14,000, of which our insurance should pay £4,000. These quotes for treatment keep rising.

We know times are financially hard for everyone but many friends have encouraged us to create a 'go fund me' as they would like to help us to meet the cost of keeping The Thunder alive and give him the best possible chance he can have.
