Save the Spot Billiards of Nanuet

Hi my name is Lenore and I am rasing funds to help alleviate the debt incurred by my business, the Spot Billiards, during the 2020-2021 Covid shutdown. We are a family owned small business located in Rockland County New York that opened in 2017. After a few years of new business struggles we were finally coming into our own when on March 16, 2020 New York State forced our business to shut it's doors due to the pandemic and did not allow us to re-open until the end of January 2021, followed by 4 months of major restrictions. During that time our bills kept piling up, including rent, utilities, and equipment leasing. The government had a moratorium in place to help protect tenants from evictions but that protection stopped in January 2022, and we along with many other businesses received a demand letter for all of the rent that built up during our closed period. At the end of it all we were forced with the decision to pay our landlord 11 months of rent or be kicked out of our space. We made payment in full using our own money and borrowing money from friends, family, and financial institutions only to lead into our slowest period ever and have debts build up once more. Or utilities bills have increased by an unbelievable percentage with no additional usage and it has been a real struggle to try and climb out of the hole we fell into. At this time we are facing the ultimate decision of fighting to keep the doors open or close up shop and have no chance of making back what we have undertaken.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. The funds raised will help pay past due bills, repay those gracious enough to lend us their hard earned money in a time of need, and repair the things we had to neglect during the last two years to improve overall business efficiency and the level of service we provide to our customers.
