The Advanced SpaceLife Research Institute (ASRI), a nonprofit space life sciences research organization based in Cape Canaveral, Florida, is leading a grassroots fundraising initiative to save the "space mice" colony of the Rodent Research - 20 (RR-20) experiment. The mice are the descendants of a 2023 NASA spaceflight biology mission flown on the International Space Station, currently housed at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC).

Due to recent science budget cuts at the agency, NASA was unable to extend RR-20's research grant, despite initial findings suggesting huge implications for genetics and human reproductive health. Without necessary funding, the space mice will unfortunately have to be euthanized, as their remaining grant funds are dwindling rapidly and the research team has no other means to sustain them.

Our team is seeking to raise an amount of $1,000,000 USD, giving the mice of RR-20 a lifeline for at least another three years, and allowing researchers time to gather troves of genetic data which could positively impact medical science here on Earth and secure humanity's future in outer space.
